SHIFT Exotic Racing Series DLC Announced

Exotic Racing Series downloadable content for Need for Speed SHIFT is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 18th!
What we are getting is 7 new cars, including the all new McLaren MP4-12C, Gumpert Apollo and the legendary BMW M1. You'll be able to drive all these cars in 50 new career events and one the all new Riviera track with 4 racing layouts. All this will be available for $10 on PS3 and for 800 MS points on the 360.

Need for Speed World Showroom

With the first western Need for Speed World beta running last weekend there were plenty of people with a chance to try the game out. Of course since car customization is a big part of NFS World, our Showroom now has a Need for Speed World section where you can upload all the cars you, the lucky beta testers, managed to create. For the rest of us, there should be another beta in a few weeks with even more players.

The two tied themes are:
[Super Street] - The body-kit used must be tier 1. The cars used must be fairly affordable, and typical street cars. The vinyls should also be "street". Basically, sporty, but not hardcore, and something that will turn necks. The ultimate daily drive?
[Showcars] - Not what this game's geared towards... but there's plenty of layers to work with to create something different to the mass of performance cars in the showroom.

The first SHIFT CTC is getting off the ground! If you want to take part, pick your theme now from the 10 described below. You have 2 choices each. Follow the comment link to vote!
[Hypercars] - Tune a tier 4 car.
[Works Racer] - Tune a works converted car.
[Super Street] - The body-kit used must be tier 1. The cars used must be fairly affordable, and typical street cars. The vinyls should also be "street". Basically, sporty, but not hardcore, and something that will turn necks. The ultimate daily drive?
[Showcars] - Not what this game's geared towards... but there's plenty of layers to work with to create something different to the mass of performance cars in the showroom.
[Hot Hatch] - Tune Crazy Hatchbacks
[Matte Challenge] - At least half the car is to be matte. Can be done using paint or vinyl covering. (You can choose the vinyl texture right?)
[S2000 Challenge] - Tune an S2000.
[Abstract Challenge] - Create an abstract art-type design.
[Orange Challenge] - Orange must be the car's main colour.
[Radius Challenge] - Circles... Lots of Circles... make something awesome using circles. You can use other vinyls... but the layout will be mainly circular.

[CTC 19] Underdog Challenge Results Announced!

Underdog challenge is officially over, and the voters have chosen GanZZo's "BBS Legacy" sponsored ride as their favourite on 373 points, well clear of the other competitors in the competition.
In second place was ::nica::'s Tiburon GTArt, a wild showcar on 338 points. Audi A3 Quattro by Rocky47 followed behind in third place.
Congratulations to all who competed and had fun!

[CTC 19] Underdog Challenge Voting Open!

Voting for the Underdog challenge for Need for Speed Underground 2 is now open; the goal of the challenge being to tune the five least popular cars in the Underground 2 showroom and turn them into showstoppers to rival the very best. Check out what the competitors have created and head to the challenge page to see the entries, talk about the competition, and vote for your favourites! It should be an interesting one with 27 competitors joining this classic SR Challenge, and with no visual restrictions there will definitely be lots of variety and personality present with tuners making a little extra effort to stand out.
Voting closes on the 26th of February 2009 8:30 GMT+9.5, with the winners announced shortly afterwards.
If you have any suggestions for future competitions, feel free to bring them up in the CTC group, and please have your say in what themes you would like to see for Undercover, Prostreet and Underground 2.

Entry for Underdog Challenge for Need for Speed Underground 2 is now open! This time, tuners will be paying attention to the 5 least popular cars in the Underground 2 showroom: The Audi A3, Ford Focus ZX3, Hyundai Tiburon Coupe GT, Mitsubishi 3000 GT and the Peugeot 206 GTI. Can these rides impress just as much as the popular cars? Sign up and watch this challenge and support your favourite tuners undertaking this tricky challenge! The next challenge has arrived! And it's for Underground 2... it's sure been a while. Here is what each challenge is about. It should be a good one. You have 2 choices each. Follow the comment link to vote!
[Full Bodied] - Use at least one body vinyl.
[Civic Challenge] - This one's for D-ToX, lol.
[America vs. Europe] - American and Euros only.
[Extreme Machine] - Lvl 3 Body Kits only.
[Drift Machines] - Create a ride with deep dish rims, drift styling, decals and maybe even a major sponsor. Make it a drifter! RWD cars only.
[Hypnotic challenge] - Use Pearl Paint only. Lvl 3.
[Green Challenge] - Green must be the dominant colour.
[Carbon Fibre Challenge] - Use a carbon bodykit.
[Lightning Strike] - Vinyl layout has to be thunderous.
::Blast from the Past:: [Underdog Challenge] - Tune the least popular cars in the showroom. They are from smallest to largest (excluding SUVs because there's no competition with cars).

The 106 and Corsa may be a problem for most PC users and they are the real bottom 2. Let me know if there's a save where we have them and everything's unlocked. I tried one and it was a bit of work but there were things that were locked. So... now we should probably forget them and stick with cars that everyone across all platforms can get to.
